Die zweiteilige Arbeit „Grafische Ostsee“ stammt aus meinem Fashion Projekt „Storys from the Baltic Sea“.
Die Ostsee übt eine große Faszination auf mich aus. Ich liebe die Atmosphäre und das Licht, während der späten Herbstwochen
und Wintermonate.
Es ist weich, für mich träumerisch. Die Ostsee selbst erscheint mir immer wie eine geradlinige traurige Fläche.
Von 2017 bis 2019 war ich mehrmals dort. Die jeweiligen Bilder, spiegeln meine damals vorherrschende Stimmung und Motivation
wider.
Während meiner Reise mit Sana Sakura im Herbst 2017 wollte ich zwei Inspirationen für meine Arbeiten vereinen.
Ich arbeitete schon damals an „My Japanese Faction“.
Vor dem Hintergrund der gegenseitigen
kulturellen,
gesellschaftlichen,
politischen und
wirtschaftlichen
Beeinflussung, geht es mir um die emotionale und ästhetische Vermischung von vorwiegend japanischen, asiatischen und
europäischen Einflüssen zu einer Bildsprache, die in jedem dieser Kulturkreise als eigenes; jedoch verbindendes gemeinsames Ausdrucks-
und Stilmittel empfunden wird.
Zu diesem Vorhaben kam eine filmische und emotionale Inspiration hinzu, welche diese beiden Bilder als Gesamtwerk beeinflusst.
Seit ich „Hana-bi“ von Takeshi Kitano, aus dem Jahr 1997, gesehen hatte, ging mir die vierminütige Schlussszene nicht mehr aus dem Kopf.
Die Schauspieler
spielen nicht, sondern sitzen lediglich.
Die Dramatik des herannahenden Schlussaktes wird ausschließlich durch eine klare einfach grafische Sprache, Landschaftsaufnahmen und
ein spielendes Kind angekündigt.
Dieses stilistische Mittel hatte eine prägende Wirkung auf mich, hat es doch thematisch mit meiner ureigenen künstlerischen Motivation zu tun.
Über die Jahre formte ich in meinen Gedanken diese Inspiration für meine eigenen Themen und Bildsprache um, die ich an der Ostsee umsetzen
und weiterentwickeln wollte.
Ich hatte das Glück, dass Sana Sakura diese Ästhetik, diese Emotionen teilte und so schufen wir verschiedene Serien zu denen „Grafische Ostsee“
zählt.

“Graphic Baltic Sea”

The two-part work „Graphic Baltic Sea“ comes from my fashion project „Stories from the Baltic Sea“.
The Baltic Sea holds a great fascination for me. I love the atmosphere and the light, during the late autumn weeks and winter months. It is
soft, dreamy for me. The Baltic Sea itself always seems like a straight sad expanse to me.
From 2017 to 2019, I was there several times. The respective pictures, reflect my prevailing mood and motivation at the time.
During my trip with Sana Sakura in autumn 2017, I wanted to combine two inspirations for my work.
I was already working on „My Japanese Faction“ at that time.
Against the background of mutual
cultural,
social,
political and
economic
influences, I am concerned with the emotional and aesthetic blending of predominantly Japanese, Asian and European influences into
a visual language that is perceived in each of these cultural circles as a separate but unifying common means of expression and style.
To this was added a cinematic and emotional inspiration that influences these two paintings as a body of work.
Ever since I saw „Hana-bi“ by Takeshi Kitano, from 1997, I could not get the four-minute final scene out of my head. The actors are not acting,
but merely sitting.
The drama of the approaching final act is announced exclusively by clear, simple graphic language, landscape shots and a child playing.
This stylistic device had a formative effect on me, since it has to do thematically with my very own artistic motivation.
Over the years, I reshaped this inspiration in my mind for my own themes and visual language, which I wanted to realise and develop
further at the Baltic Sea.
I was lucky that Sana Sakura shared this aesthetic, these emotions, and so we created various series, one of which is „Graphic Baltic Sea“.
